What is it and Who is it for?

Eureka College is launching a series of online courses focused on Workplace Essential Skills. Individuals will have the opportunity to obtain key professional skills that employers are looking for when hiring and promoting their staff. 

 

The courses are 8 weeks in length, fully remote, and taught by Eureka College Professors. Learners will earn a microcredential in the form of a digital badge that can be displayed on social media.

Summer 2024 Courses: Classes begin on June 10 and run through August 4

 

Creating Effective Leadership

What makes an effective leader? This introductory course addresses this question through an exploration of leadership theories and practices. Specifically, this course will introduce learners to the importance of diversity and digital media as core components of leadership in modern society. Learners will be assessed through a combination of quizzes, writing, and class engagement. 

 

Statistics in the Workplace

This course is designed to equip learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to become competent in statistical literacy and problem-solving for data analysis. The course will cover essential statistical concepts, including probability distributions, hypothesis testing, and regression analysis. Learners will learn how to use popular software tools such as Microsoft Excel and Jamovi to perform data analysis and visualization. With a focus on hands-on learning, learners will work through a variety of practical examples to reinforce their understanding of statistical concepts and problem-solving techniques.

Once registered, students will be provided log-in information to access their Eureka College student email account and the Learning Management System, Canvas. Canvas allows students to access course content for their courses, submit assignments, participate in discussions, communicate with the instructor and classmates, take quizzes and exams, and more.
