Eureka College was founded by abolitionists from Kentucky who were members of a religious movement known as the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and were committed to providing young people a broad, liberal education. These pioneers believed in an education infused with values as a basis for leadership. Chartered by the Illinois Legislature in 1855, Eureka was the first college in the state and third in the nation to admit men and women on an equal basis. Eureka College was designated by the National Park Service as a Campus Historic District in the National Register of Historic Places in June 2010.

The Ronald W. Reagan Society of Eureka College invites you to join us for our annual Ronald Reagan Memorial on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. This year marks the 20th anniversary since the passing of America’s 40th President and Eureka College Alumni, Ronald Reagan.

We are excited to announce that we will be participating in the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library’s Memorial Service via live stream this year. Dr. Jamel Wright, President of Eureka College, will be delivering a special reading from Simi Valley, CA.

A reception before the program will begin at 4:00 PM in Moser Lobby with hors d’oeuvres and viewing of the Ronald Reagan Peace Garden & Ronald W. Reagan Museum Available. The program begins at 5:15 PM in Becker Auditorium with special music and remarks prior to the live stream.
