Elementary Education / Special Education Double Major
Course work at Eureka College in the Elementary Education/Special Education double major encompaasses a common framework known as Universal Design for Learning. This provides skills necessary to teach a diverse range of students. Our candidates are prepared for an inclusinve classroom, where evidence based practices are addressed for the needs of students with varied backgrounds, learning styles and abilities.
Courses in this double-major involves exposure to co-teaching techniques which equips students to plan, instruct and collaborate with peers. Students will also explore multiple learning opportunities through the micro-teaching model. Take initiative and deliver lessons, receive specific, immediate feedback from professors to help better their craft.
