RESEARCH INTERESTS:
My research interests include contemporary fiction, creative writing, graphic novels, and representation in fiction. My current projects include a collection of satirical essays and my blog, on which I am rewriting the short stories from my first collection to include a more diverse set of characters.
TEACHING INTERESTS:
Creative writing, American Literature, Humor in Writing, Composition
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY:
My books include So Anyway…, a collection of introductions to poems that don’t exist, and In A Family Way and Lifelong Learning, which are both collections of short stories. My play, Meeting, was produced in spring of 2018.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:
I have served on the PTO for my daughter’s school as well as on a community advisory board for Unit 5 schools.
UNIQUELY EUREKA EXPERIENCE:
I love watching students progress during their time at Eureka. At other, larger schools, it can be hard for faculty to get to know students, but at Eureka, we make close connections and we can easily see a student grow over the course of their studies.
ABOUT:
I live with my wife and daughter. I enjoy cooking, reading, watching movies, and writing personal information about myself.
