Eureka College President recognized with 2024 Biden Lifetime Achievement Award for Service
The Brown Foundation Community Development Corporation certified Eureka College President Dr. Jamel Wright as a distinguished recipient of the 2024 Joseph R. Biden Lifetime Achievement Award. The presidential lifetime achievement award recognizes leaders who have dedicated their lives with over 4,000 hours in service of others.
The Joseph R. Biden Lifetime Achievement Award is an honor that celebrates not just the depth of commitment but the breadth of impact one has made over a lifetime of service.
“I am honored and humbled by this recognition,” said Wright. “My late mother was my role model and taught me that to whom much is given, much is expected and required. As a first-generation college student and the first woman and African American to lead Eureka College, so many people gave and give of their time to me, and I want to embody that habit of service for others."
Wright's passion for mentoring young people and women is evident in her record of service, which also includes a commitment to many community efforts, boards, and initiatives of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Inc.
Wright will receive the honor during a gala on Saturday, June 29 in Memphis, TN.
