Congressman Darin LaHood to Deliver Keynote Address at Eureka College Reagan Birthday Dinner
EUREKA, Ill. — Eureka College has announced that Illinois Congressman Darin LaHood will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Ronald Reagan Birthday Dinner.
The event, which is presented by the Ronald W. Reagan Society, will take place in the Terrill Rooms of the Donald B. Cerf Center on the campus of Eureka College on Thursday, Feb. 2, beginning with cocktails at 6 p.m., with the dinner following at 7 p.m.
It will celebrate the upcoming 112th anniversary of President Ronald W. Reagan’s birthday, which will be on Feb. 6.
LaHood, who was born and raised in Peoria, serves the 16th District of Illinois and has been a Congressman since 2015. He represented central and west-central Illinois in the 18th Congressional District from 2015-2023. Due to redistricting, he now serves the 16th Congressional District, spanning 21 counties across central and northwestern Illinois.
Before he was elected to Congress, LaHood served four years in the Illinois State Senate. He also spent more than nine years as a State and Federal Prosecutor, working for the U.S. Department of Justice as an Assistant United States Attorney in Las Vegas, Nevada, and serving as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Cook County and Tazewell County.
