My research interests include nonverbal expressions of social power, community-centered leadership, and communication pedagogy. My current research project explores how professors intentionally think about constructing a community-centered dialogue in the classroom from the first day of class.
I teach courses in both Communication and Leadership Studies. A few of the courses I currently teach are: Intercultural Communication, Human Communication, Philosophy and Ethics of Leadership, Organizational Communication, and Advanced Public Speaking.
Some of my professional memberships include the Mid-Western Educational Research Association (MWERA) and the Illinois Communication and Theatre Association (ICTA).
UNIQUELY EUREKA EXPERIENCE:
The small class sizes and liberal arts mission drew me to Eureka College.
I enjoy cooking meals from my garden, spending time with my family, reading, coaching public speaking, and golfing. I also love exploring new places—my most recent travels include Budapest, Hungary and Vienna, Austria.
